Why We Started The Merkato

We  are  a  family  who  has  a  very  special  connection  to  Ethiopia.   There  is  so  much  history  and  beauty  in  the  Ethiopian  culture. Did you know that there are over 80  languages due to the diversity in tribes?  Did you know Ethiopia is the only country in Africa not to be colonized? it  is  of  course  the  birthplace  of  coffee.  There  are  many  reasons  to  have  a  tremendous  amount  of  respect  and  love  for  this  country and the resilient  people.

Another trip is almost here!

The date is approaching fast and I am making preparations. Don’t miss out on future merchandise. Updates to come soon after the trip, including posting the items acquired on the trip.
